No:36 Baspınar / Gaziantep, Turkey +90 342 444 4 150 [email protected] http://www.sevinclersaglik.com Sevinçler Health Products, a subsidiary of Sevinçler Group, was founded in 2010 as a producer of baby diapers. Since its founding, the Gaziantep, Turkey-based company has made annual investments in new baby diaper lines, as well as in lines for new products including adult diapers, adult pants, underpads, wet wipes and sanitary napkins. The founders of the family-owned company decided to get into hygiene business after conducting long feasibility studies. Sevinçler saw opportunities in the market because of population growth in many developing countries, as well as Turkey’s geographical advantage to supply many countries in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa, according to Yakup Sevinç, deputy general manager, Sevinçler Health Products. There are also many high-quality raw material manufacturers in Turkey for the hygiene industry, so quality and price of raw materials was also an advantage, he adds. To support its growth, Sevinçler made an investment of €30 million last year for the construction of a new 70,000 square-meter plant in Gaziantep. The company also added new baby pant and open baby diaper lines to its production. Meanwhile, this year a new adult pant line started running, which doubled its adult range capacity. Sevinçler is also planning to finalize two more projects for baby diapers and sanitary napkins, which should increase the company’s turnover to $120 million by 2023. Sevinçler’s main brand name is Giggles, which was first used for its range of baby diapers. When the company invested in premium-type baby diapers, it created the brand name Giggles Premium. At the same time, the company launched Giggles adult diapers and wet wipes. Due to varying economic levels of different countries, and demand coming from alternative markets, the company also created the brands Jusy Baby, Dolphin Baby, Dr. Comfort, Dr. Marco and First Lady. Sevinçler also has a successful private label business. Since 2012, the company has manufactured private label products for large supermarket chains and other manufacturers in the industry. Currently, around 50% of Sevinçler’s sales around the world are conducted within the private label market. “We’re very flexible to meet the demands of different private label customers in terms of quality and packaging,” says Sevinç. “Sevinçler is a reliable company to supply the agreed product on the agreed time to our private label customers.” Responding to the sustainability trend in hygiene, Sevinçler has reduced the percentage of non-biodegradable materials in its products by 15-25% over the years. The company is also planning to increase the percentage of natural fibers more each year by using natural biopolymers, cotton, cotton-like natural fibers and polybags made of recycled polymers. The company also makes 100% biodegradable wet wipes. Currently, Sevinçler is selling its products in around 90 countries on six continents. “Every country or region has its own rules and expectations,” says Sevinç. “We have to be flexible and meet expectations of different countries and at the same time have to manufacture standard products to reduce production costs. So, we are trying to find a balance between flexibility and standardization.” Sevinçler aims to supply consumers high quality products with affordable prices. “We are investing and increasing production quantity to reduce our production costs,” he says. “We are one of the few companies in our region that offers a wide range of disposable hygiene products under one roof. Also, our service quality is one of the strongest characteristics of our company. We reply to all customers’ requests or questions within a few hours.”
